CHRISTY DENNIS ALUMNI SOCCER GAME JULY 26: The fourth annual Christy Dennis Alumni Soccer game will be at 1 p.m. July 26 at the Christy Rose Dennis Soccer Stadium in Fairfield. The cost is $10 per player, which includes a T-shirt. Tickets to the game are $5 for adults. Children 12 and younger are free. FAIRFIELD GIVING SPORTS PHYSICALS: Fairfield High School will conduct its annual sports physicals on July 28. Times are as follows: seniors, 5:45 p.m.; juniors, 6:15 p.m.; sophomores, 6:45 p.m.; freshmen, 7:15 p.m.; seventh- and eighth-graders, 7:45 p.m. All interested athletes should enter the high school from through door No. 9 in the rear of the building. MONROE PHYSICALS ARE MONDAY: The Monroe Sports Medicine staff will be performing physicals for students in grades 7-12 at Monroe High School on Monday, July 28, with the girls starting at 6 p.m. and the boys at 7 p.m. The cost is a $10 donation. Student–athletes must have a physical form signed by a parent before receiving a physical. BASKETBALL CAMP AT KINGDOM: Christian Sports International will hold a basketball camp from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 28-31 at Kingdom Sports Center in Franklin. The camp is open to players age 9-18. BISHOP GOLF OUTING IN AUGUST: The Arlene Bishop Home for Life will host its sixth annual golf outing, beginning at 12:15 p.m., Aug. 9 at Walden Ponds Golf Course in Hamilton. This event is a primary fundraiser for the Home for Life in Monroe, a non-profit residential home for women 18 and older that are either pregnant, homeless or dealing with abuse, or addictions. FAMILY PASSES, FOOTBALL RESERVE SEATS ON SALE AT FRANKLIN: Family passes and football reserve seats for Franklin High School will go on sale Aug. 11. Current reserve seat holders are asked to renew their seats from Aug. 4-8. Seats can be renewed by stopping into the athletic office between 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Family Season Passes ($200), Individual Adult Passes ($90) and Individual Student Passes ($50) are good for all home high school and junior high sporting events, for the Fall, Winter, and Spring sports seasons. Passes are not valid for away games, tournaments, or any OHSAA play-off contest. Football Reserve Seats are good for all Varsity home football games. MONROE'S HORNET DAY DATE SET: The Monroe Athletic Booster Club is sponsoring the Second Annual Hornet Day on Sunday, Aug. 17 from 5-7 p.m. The event will take place at the Monroe High School Sports Complex. At the start, student-athletes & coaches will be introduced to Hornet fans and community members. Fans will then have an opportunity to take pictures with their favorite athletes; decorate their lockers; and tour the film room, trainer room and weight room. Coaches and players will conduct minicamps for the young athletes. The Spirit Shop and athletic teams will have Hornet merchandise available for purchase. SALVATION ARMY OPEN GYM SCHEDULE: The Salvation Army open gym summer activities will run from 6-8 p.m. through Aug. 18, Mondays and Tuesdays. TICKETS ON SALE FOR FIRST TWO MIDDIE FOOTBALL GAMES: Tickets for Middletown's first tow football games are on sale. The Middies will face Elder at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 23 at Nippert Stadium on the campus of the University of Cincinnati. Advance tickets for that game will cost $10. The MHS athletic department receives a portion of those sales. Tickets at the door are $13. The Middies will then battle Warren Central (Ind.) at 2 p.m. Aug. 30 at Paul Brown Stadium in the Kirk Herbstreit Football Challenge. Advance tickets for that event will cost $14, with a portion of sales going to the athletic department. Student tickets for this event will be $10. Tickets at the door are $16. OHIO U. HOLDING BASEBALL PROSPECT CAMPS: The Ohio University baseball program has two prospect camps scheduled for late summer and early fall. The first will be Aug. 23, and the second will be Oct. 4. Each camp will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 6:30 p.m. The camp is restricted to 2009, 2010 and 2011 high school graduates. The tournament is open to women golfers age 50 and older who have a current USGA handicap index and reside or play at a golf course within a 12-mile radius of the Middletown City Building. PUNT, PASS, KICK COMING TO HHS: Young Cincinnati Bengals fans will have the opportunity to exhibit their football skills when the Hamilton Parks and Recreation Department hosts a local competition of the NFL/Pepsi Punt, Pass and Kick Competition on Saturday, Sept. 20, at Virgil M. Schwarm Stadium at Hamilton High School. The time of the competition will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The competition is free and open to boys and girls ages 8 – 15. This activity is drop-in so pre-registration is not necessary.

HAMILTON BOOSTERS ARE SELLING ADS: The Hamilton High boosters are selling ads for their Fall/Winter sports programs. Programs are sold at all home football, soccer and volleyball games in the spirit room at the high school. Proceeds from the program benefit the freshman and high school. CLUB COLLECTING GOLF ITEMS FOR U.S. TROOPS: The Butler County Republican Women's Club is collecting new and used golf balls and tees for the troops. The soldiers have been hitting golf balls to relieve stress. Cash donations are needed. The cost to mail a package will be about $11. New white socks, which will be used as filler in the packing boxes, are also needed. Donations are being accepted at the GOP Headquarters, 59964 Golf Club Lane, during business hours.
