Now that's more like it
Thursday, July 24, 2008
Great American Ball Park coughed up five home runs Wednesday, July 23, in the Reds' 9-5 win over the San Diego Padres, including Adam Dunn's game-breaking grand slam.
It was a return to normalcy after the teams played the 35th homerless game in the six-year (458 games) history of GABP on Tuesday. Only once, in 2005, has there been a streak of two straight games without a homer at GABP.
This season, five Reds home games have failed to produce a longball, and the Reds are 2-3 in those:
May 6 Cubs 3, Reds 0
May 30 Reds 3, Braves 2 (11)
June 17 Dodgers 3, Reds 1
July 5 Nationals 3, Reds 2
July 22 Reds 4, Padres 3 (11)
